Uniland Development Corporation is close to completing the construction of a new Hampton by Hilton hotel in Amherst, New York. The Hampton by Hilton is expected to become the first hotel in the country to achieve isUD certification, a program that aims to create and acknowledge inclusive buildings. “As the first hotel in the country to embrace Universal Design, our new Hampton by Hilton at the Northtown Center will offer guests “the best experience possible,” says Kellena Kane, Uniland Director of Development.” The IDEA Center consulted with Uniland throughout the design process to ensure that the new hotel incorporated as many universal design features as possible. Some of the features include large turning radiuses, wider hallways for easy passing, and illuminated room signage. The Hampton by Hilton hotel is scheduled to open June 2020.
